Ivory Coast head coach Hervé Renard has called for the Africa Cup of Nations to return to a two-year cycle. He recently had his say during an interview with Afrik-Foot, and fans have been reacting.
Stressing that a four-year gap between tournaments is too long, Renard stated that he needs the AFCON competition to go back to how it originally was.

The Frenchman added that restoring the biennial format would be the best-case scenario for all participating African nations.
His words, “I think returning to holding the Africa Cup of Nations every two years is excellent, and that the tournament should continue as it was in the past.
Holding the tournament every four years is far too long in my view, but that is my personal opinion.”
