The Master of Ceremony Company’s Academy chaired by TV and radio host, Oscar Oyinsan, has embarked on a mission to mould the next generation of compères in Nigeria and beyond through knowledge sharing and practical classes.
The classes, billed for November 24 to 25, 2016 and January 19 to 20, 2017, will see comedians Ali Baba, Tee A, Gbenga Adeyinka, and Teju Babyface, as well as media personalities Ik Osakioduwa, Joseph Benjamin, and Andre Blaze sharing their knowledge.
Also on the list are veteran broadcasters and compères Sanya Oyinsan and Bisi Olatilo, motivational and public speakers, Jimi Tewe and Damilola Oluwatoyinbo, veteran Nollywood actor, Otunba Tunji Sotimirin and more.
According to the founder, Oscar, ‘The job of a compère requires professionalism, depth and other technicalities that simply holding a mic is not enough to qualify one as a master of ceremony, let alone a lasting impression on your audience.
‘A new wave and generation of compères (red carpet hosts, comedians, hype men, Alagas to mention a few) are emerging, with a large percentage of them looking for shoulders to lean on, giants to lift them, and veterans to teach them. The MC company seeks to do is by being the bridge to build and mould a new set of voices who can compete globally, whilst earning locally and beyond.’
The Academy offers four modules with each having three courses for both the beginners’ and professionals’ streams. A student is allowed to choose a minimum of one module and maximum of four. Each module starts at a subsidised rate of N20,000.
