Trust Alicia Keys to be a trendsetter. The multiple award-winning American singer is breaking a personal code by shying away from heavy make-up.
From her popular wavy locks when she debuted with her Grammy-winning album, Songs In A Minor to long cornrows on her second album The Diary of Alicia Keys, the mother of two has been defining her looks for years.
Alicia is now on a quest for a bold embrace of her appearance, preferring to appear ‘natural’ over heavy make-up as she is tired of hiding behind ‘masks’.
‘Every time I left the house, I would be worried if I didn’t put on makeup: What if someone wanted a picture?? What if they POSTED it??? ……. I hope to God it’s a revolution. ‘Cause I don’t want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing,’ she said of the new embrace.
The 35-year-old appeared on the cover of the latest issue of Fault Magazine with close-up photos of her make-up free face.
