An unnamed man was reportedly murdered by enraged teenagers in the phase 2, Gwagwalada neighborhood of Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, for stealing the manhood of a local resident.
On Friday, media outlets received confirmation from SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer.
The PPRO stated that officers from the Gwagwalada Police Divisional Headquarters responded to reports of a lynching and attempted to save the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
She stated that CP Haruna G. Garba, the FCT Commissioner of Police, had cautioned against spreading rumors about the purported disappearance of organs.
She claims that spreading such rumors causes unrest and panic throughout the region.
She also verified that another resident, Lucky Josiah, was accused of stealing the manhood of one Rokeeb Saheed.
The PPRO stated that Saheed’s male organ was “confirmed to be fine, and Josiah’s injuries were treated” after medical checks were performed.
