Alvaro Morata has suggested on Instagram that he is about to return to training for Chelsea.
The Chelsea striker was sent home from international duty with Spain with a grim medical diagnosis that suggested he would miss up to eight weeks due to injury. Morata picked up a hamstring issue in the loss to Manchester City just before the two-week international break.
Spain claimed the 24-year-old had suffered a grade two tear, but Chelsea were confident the Spanish medical team had overreacted.
Morata has been rehabilitating in Cobham and has been regularly assessed by the Blues medical team.
And in a surprise injury update on his Instagram on Wednesday, Morata seemed to hint he may already be back in training. The goalscorer posted a picture with the caption: ‘Coffee before training.’
There is no coffee in the picture, but there is the suggestion Morata would be training with the squad on Wednesday morning.
