Manchester United legend Gary Neville has said that the club can never be elite again with players like Joshua Zirkzee and Amad Diallo. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even though the Ivorian forward has shown his talent in recent seasons, Amad must begin to deliver end product consistently to retain his place in the team.

Stressing that Zirkzee is not a PL striker, Neville added that the Dutch international always struggles to impose himself physically or tactically.
His words, “Manchester United will NEVER get back to the top carrying players like this. I’m sorry, but enough is enough.
Look, if Manchester United genuinely want to behave like an elite football club again, then performances like that from both Zirkzee and Amad Diallo simply can’t be part of the long-term plan.
Zirkzee doesn’t play like a Premier League centre-forward, he plays like someone still figuring out what his role is. You can’t lead the line at a club like United and spend the game drifting away from danger, offering no real physical presence, no penalty-box authority. Against a team like Sunderland, he was comfortably handled.
And Amad Diallo, there’s talent there, nobody denies that. But talent at Manchester United isn’t enough. You’ve got to deliver end product consistently, and more importantly, you’ve got to make the right decision at the right moment. Too many times he’s taking the extra touch, trying to beat one man too many, when the simple ball is on. In games like this, against compact teams, that slows everything down and allows the opposition to reset.
What you saw today from both players is exactly why United are still inconsistent. One is struggling to impose himself physically or tactically in central areas, and the other is relying too much on individual flair without enough efficiency in the final action.
At Manchester United, the standard isn’t ‘potential’, it’s performance. And right now, performances like that raise serious questions. If the club wants to close the gap at the top, these are the exact types of situations they’ll have to address in the summer.”
WOW.
Manchester United Football Club, commonly referred to as Man United or simply United, is a professional football club based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the top division in the English football league system.
Nicknamed the Red Devils, they were founded as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878, but changed their name to Manchester United in 1902. After a spell playing in Clayton, Manchester, the club moved to their current stadium, Old Trafford, in 1910.
Alex Ferguson and his assistant Archie Knox arrived from Aberdeen on the day of Atkinson’s dismissal, and guided the club to an 11th-place finish in the league. Despite a second-place finish in 1987–88, the club was back in 11th place the following season. Reportedly on the verge of being dismissed, Ferguson’s job was saved by victory over Crystal Palace in the 1990 FA Cup final.
The following season, Manchester United claimed their first UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title. That triumph allowed the club to compete in the European Super Cup for the first time, where United beat European Cup holders Red Star Belgrade 1–0 at Old Trafford. The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992 the left and the right, but he’s not got any sense of danger yet, and empties the midfield area too readily.
