The Kwara Government has come out to dismiss reports across the state suggesting that popular Nigerian food, “AMALA” is a cure for coronavirus.
Dr. Abubakar Ayinla, the Permanent Secretary, state Ministry of Health, refuted the rumors today in Ilorin during the daily routine meetings of the Medical Team of the Kwara COVID-19 Technical Committee in the state.
According to him, it is not true and the state government has now set up the Risk Communication teams, among others, to manage rumors and fake news circulating as regards COVID-19 in the state.
He added that the confirmed patients with COVID-19 at the Sobi Isolation Centre are doing fine because the government is caring for their necessary needs.
