NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwired – Jul 16, 2014) – Celebrating a year of record-growth, Cycle Computing has added HPC executive and startup veteran Tim Carroll as Vice President of Business Development and Ecosystem; and has also promoted Rob Futrick to Chief Technical Officer (CTO). The buildout of the management team will leverage and accelerate rapid growth of revenue, new customers and core hours under management.
“Our goal is to lead the way in utility technical computing, which is the biggest accelerator of engineering, life science, insurance, manufacturing, energy, risk management, and scientific discovery and invention in history,” says Jason Stowe, CEO of Cycle Computing. “We’re excited to have Tim and Rob join the management team at Cycle, showing again that the industry’s top talent is joining us to help deliver better answers, faster, to clients.”
The company has steadily increased its market leadership with over 60% quarter over quarter revenue growth and a 10x increase core hours managed on an annual basis for the past three years. Cycle Computing’s software has created an entirely new market by helping customers to solve problems faster through easy access to enormous computing and data resources via public or private Clouds.
Mr. Carroll will manage Cycle’s key industry partnerships and business development activities. He was most recently Executive Director of the Global HPC business as well as responsible for North American Cloud and Big Data sales. Prior to Dell, he focused exclusively on disruptive and high performance technologies, holding management roles at Digex, Linux Networx, and Platform Computing. “I am thrilled to be part of an organization that embraces the challenge to impact both the market and society, by delivering the compute and storage resources that enable anyone to ask huge questions that are unconstrained by datacenter walls or queues.”
Mr. Futrick is a seasoned entrepreneur who, as employee #3 at Cycle Computing, helped develop and manage every software technology the company has created. Futrick also has the most experience moving real client’s production HPC workloads to the cloud, starting in 2008. As the CTO, Mr. Futrick will continue to manage the product roadmap and IP & patent portfolio, while directing engineering resources to maximize Cycle’s ability to help customers. “Cycle’s in a very exciting position right now,” says Mr. Futrick. “I’m passionate about using our software to help clients achieve amazing results by using utility HPC for it’s true purpose: accelerating the human mind.”
