The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the appointment of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, as Chairman Electoral Committee for the Anambra State Ward Congresses slated for Saturday, February 19 to Saturday, March 5, 2022.
PDP National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar M. Bature, in a statement on Friday, explained that Makinde and 4 others are to serve on the Electoral Committee for the Anambra State Ward Congresses for the purpose of electing new Ward Executive Committees and 3-Man Ad-Hoc Ward Delegates to the state congress.
The opposition party also appointed Rt. Hon. Mohammed Isah Ashiru as the Secretary of the committee.
Other members of the Committee are: Sen. Abdul Ahmed Ningi, Sen. Atai Idoko and Barr. Ms. Mildred Ekhator.
According to the statement, the exercise is scheduled to hold in all the 326 wards of Anambra State.
The statement reads: “In the same vein, the NWC has approved the appointment of 63 Electoral Officers whose sole responsibility shall be to conduct the Ward Congresses in their assigned local government areas. This is to ensure transparency and strict compliance with the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of Ward Congresses.
“All aspirants, leaders and critical stakeholders of our Party in Anambra State are to take note.”
