The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Aderemi Adeoye, has called on residents of Onitsha to abide by the law to ensure a peaceful environment for business activities.
Adeoye made this plea during a working visit to Onitsha on Monday, a day when the sit-at-home order is typically observed in the Southeast region.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the security situation in the commercial city firsthand.
During his visit, the commissioner met with shuttle drivers operating in the Upper Iweka area of the town.
He urged residents to assist the police by providing credible information to combat crime effectively.
“I urge you all to be law-abiding, vigilant, and to promptly report any criminal activities to the nearest police station,” he emphasized.
Adeoye also encouraged residents to contact the Command’s Control Room at ‘07039194332’ to provide intelligence information.
He stressed the importance of collaboration between the police and the public to enhance security efforts, stating, “We need synergy with the public to effectively perform our duties; we should work as allies.”
