The Anambra State Police Command has called on residents to remain vigilant and mindful of their surroundings during the festive season.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, issued the advisory on Sunday in a statement released in Awka, the state capital.
Ikenga emphasized the importance of neighborhood awareness, urging residents to monitor activities around their communities to enhance safety.

He also advised against actions that could lead to fire outbreaks, particularly during the harmattan season, such as uncontrolled bush burning and improper disposal of cigarette butts.
The police spokesman cautioned the public against the use of fireworks, explosives, and careless handling of trash receptacles.
He further highlighted the need for careful management of electrical appliances to prevent fire hazards.
Ikenga appealed for public cooperation, urging residents to work closely with the police to ensure a secure and peaceful festive period.
“The Command is committed to providing the right atmosphere for everyone to enjoy the celebrations, but we need your support to achieve this,” he said.
