A new media onslaught under the guise of Public Opinion Poll (POP) sponsored by the semi-god of Bourdillion, Mr. Bola Tinubu in some major national newspapers to ensure that the upper chamber of National Assembly is continuously in crises in order to instigate the banana peel for the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has been uncovered.
The plot which was initiated at a location in Lagos with Mr. Bola Tinubu presiding, was consummated at the federal capital, Abuja. At the meeting, Tinubu was reportedly furious over the leakage of the last week stage-managed protest. The POP, third leg of his plans soon after the failure of the second leg when a small group of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) members in the South West claimed to speak for the national body demanded the resignation of Dr. Saraki as Senate President with a threat to shut down the country if he did not resign his position before the resumption of the legislators last week.
Tinubu at the meeting felt punctured that the leadership of NLC denied ever discussing the matter nor taking resolution.
Apparently ?disturbed by the turn of event on resumption of recess at the National Assembly where 84 Senators unanimously reiterated their endorsement of the leadership of Dr. Bukola Saraki as President of the Senate, the frontline politician was said to have stirred up this episode of stage managed POP to kickstart in the Punch newspapers .
A simultaneous issue that was also hatched at the meeting is to discredit each of the Senators who voted YES for the confidence vote on the Senate leadership .And “take the fight into their constituencies to smear their profile” according to our credible source who pleaded anonymity.
Laying credence to this assertion, he recalled that Tinubu is contemplating this move in the same manner that he tried to pitch President Muhammadu Buhari against the 81 Senators who voted? YES in the first confidence endorsement of the Senate President and the leadership of the red chamber when his newspaper THE NATION carried a story alleging that “those who voted for Saraki and the Senate leadership were hatching a plot to impeach the President “. It would be recalled that when the offensive publication was raised on the floor of The Senate, his wife Senator Oluremi Tinubu not only abused Senator Rafiu Ibrahim who raised the motion but also disrupted the session before the Sergeant at Arms intervened. And in quick move the newspaper went to court to stop the upper chamber from taking further action on the motion. Our source further confirmed to this medium that the POP is designed to give a damning resolution that it were Nigerians calling for the stepping aside of the Senate President .
He hinted that huge sum of money as usual was made available to mobilize people across the country to vote as soon as each of the newspapers unveil the fraudulent opinion poll public.
The Sunday Punch edition of October 4, 2015 of the Punch Newspapers, online edition which rolled out the staged managed POP had as many as 67,000 people had voted in affirmation within a spate of just one hour 7. 00-8. 00am, while hundreds of thousands have since “voted” till date.
This new chapter in the ongoing orchestrated media war to cause disaffection in the upper chamber and dislodge the Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki was the new strategy of Mr Bola Tinubu who had vowed to continuously promote crisis in the legislative arm of government.
Meanwhile, this medium gathered that a number of media houses both print and electronic in the Lagos /Ibadan axis aside from Punch have been commissioned to run the series of the fake PUBLIC OPINION POLL (POP).
The purported POP which was posted on the SUNDAY Punch Web site reads, “Polls: Should Dr. Bukola Saraki resign as the Senate President over his alleged false declaration case at the Code of Conduct Tribunal?
Also our source revealed that ?the man behind this dastardly act had distributed several gadgets including i phones, computer set, i pad among other things to motivate all those he mobilized for the hatchet jobs.
Reacting to this development the National Chairman, Advocacy For the Independence of Legislatures (AIL), Dr. Hassan Dan Zaria has urged Nigerians to shun this act of divisiveness but instead support the lawmakers in their determination to build a New Nigeria and to enshrine good governance that shall be beneficial to all and sundry.
