The campaign council of an All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives aspirant, Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka, has rejected the primary election conducted for Kaduna North Federal Constituency.
The development was contained in a statement issued by the campaign council.
According to the statement, members of the campaign team and party supporters were present across the 12 wards where the exercise was expected to take place but allegedly did not find electoral officials, voting materials or arrangements for the conduct of the primary election.

The council further alleged that a group linked to another aspirant later emerged and announced results under what it described as questionable circumstances.
“This is a clear hijack of the democratic process, an abuse of internal party democracy, and a calculated attempt to impose a predetermined outcome on the people,” the statement read.
The campaign council called on the leadership of the APC to investigate the development and address the concerns raised over the conduct of the exercise.
It also urged supporters and party members to remain calm while efforts continue to pursue what the council described as its democratic rights through lawful means.
Meanwhile, presidential aspirant on the platform of the ruling APC, Stanley Osifo, has said President Bola Tinubu promised to work with him if he defeats the incumbent president in the party’s primary election.
Osifo is the only presidential aspirant contesting the APC ticket alongside Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Arise News, Osifo said there was no division within the APC, insisting that he would support Tinubu if he loses the primary election.
He added that the outcome of the primary election would determine his chances against the president, stressing that incumbency does not guarantee victory.
“For chances, I can’t really state or detect now. I think the day of the election will really tell the extent or the level of chance I have against him.
“Being an incumbent is not a guarantee that the election is going to go his way or my way, but one thing that is important is that we are one party and we are not fighting ourselves.
“We are members of the All Progressives Congress, so if I defeat him at the end of the day, I think he also has to work with me.
“And if he wins, the same thing, I will work with him and support him. So we’re not fighting in the All Progressives Congress. It is one party, and I strongly believe that we have an understanding amongst ourselves as APC members,” Osifo said.
In another development, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, and former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, have secured the APC tickets for the 2027 House of Representatives elections in Abia State.
The duo emerged unopposed during the APC House of Representatives primary elections conducted across the state’s eight federal constituencies.
Kalu was returned as the party’s candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, while Onyejeocha secured the APC ticket for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency.
Announcing the results at the APC State Secretariat in Umuahia, Chairman of the Abia State National Assembly Primary Election Committee, Barrister Erasmus Cishak, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and credible.
According to him, the primaries recorded active participation by party members and stakeholders across the state.
Other candidates who emerged from the primaries include Chris Nkwonta for Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency and Uzor Azubuike for Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency.
Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, also emerged as the APC candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency.
Similarly, Uzoma Theodore Uka secured the ticket for Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala Ngwa South Federal Constituency, while Udo Alozie emerged candidate for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency.
Ikenna Nicholas also clinched the APC ticket for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
Barrister Cishak commended party members for their orderly conduct during the exercise, stating that the committee adhered strictly to fairness, transparency and internal democracy throughout the primaries.
The outcome of the primaries is expected to strengthen the APC’s preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections in Abia State.
