The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council in Kogi State has issued a call to the public to hold the Social Democratic Party (SDP) accountable for any untoward incident at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Lokoja.
The APC campaign council, through its Director of Media and Publicity/Spokesperson, Mr Kingsley Fanwo, urged heightened security measures around INEC offices.
In a statement released on Sunday night in Lokoja, Fanwo emphasized the need for security agencies to be proactive in safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.

The statement responded to claims made by the SDP, wherein Mr Isaiah Ijele, the Director General, New Media of the MuriSam Campaign Council, alleged a plot to burn down the INEC office.
The SDP’s statement expressed concerns about a purported sinister plan to attack the INEC office, urging increased security presence to prevent any untoward incident.
However, the APC campaign council countered these claims, asserting that the SDP’s alert was a diversionary tactic.
According to the APC, the SDP’s false alarm was an attempt to conceal its alleged intention to set fire to the INEC office while falsely implicating the APC.
As political tensions rise, both parties are now in the spotlight, with the public and security agencies urged to remain vigilant to ensure the integrity of the electoral process in Kogi State.
