Alhaji Umaru Adamu, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, has expressed apprehension regarding the party’s ability to navigate significant challenges if a governorship rerun becomes necessary.
Adamu pointedly addressed the internal divisions within the party, emphasizing that the same internal crises led to a resounding defeat in the 2023 general election.
He underscored the urgency of addressing these issues, stating, “There is no doubt that there are serious internal crises rocking the party in the State due to the political supremacy of the party leaders.”

Speaking to reporters in Gusau, the state capital, Adamu voiced concern over the diminishing popularity of the APC in Zamfara. He advocated for substantial reforms within the party, emphasizing the indispensability of unity among key members for any political party to thrive.
Expressing foreboding sentiments about a potential governorship rerun, Adamu remarked, “If there will be any governorship rerun in the State, the APC will be in serious trouble due to the internal crisis in the party.”
Adamu urged party elders to reconcile and form robust political alliances with other parties. He believed such alliances were necessary to effectively contend with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, warning that without unity, the APC risked being marginalized by the incumbent party.
