The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has established a seven-man Governorship Screening Committee to vet aspirants ahead of the party’s primary scheduled for April 20.
The committee was inaugurated on Friday in Abuja by the party’s Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Duru, on behalf of the NWC.
Duru urged the committee members to conduct the exercise with diligence, discipline, and friendliness, emphasizing the need to complete the screening within the projected timeframe.

He also mentioned that the Appeal Committee would begin its work immediately after the screening.
The committee, chaired by former Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Mr. Joshua Lidani, has a former member of the House of Representatives, Bimbo Daramola, as its Secretary.
Speaking to journalists after the inauguration, Duru emphasized that the screening of aspirants before every primary election is compulsory according to the party’s constitution.
The APC has 16 aspirants who purchased the party’s Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to contest in the Ondo State governorship election primaries.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the off-cycle Ondo state governorship election for November 16.
