Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced plans to establish a National Institute of Progressive Studies as part of the party’s new initiatives for 2024.
This initiative aims to promote democratic principles within the party and across the nation.
Ganduje revealed this during a meeting with State House Correspondents after visiting the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Thursday.

He explained that the institute would play a crucial role in educating both party members and the general public about the essence of democracy, internal party democracy, the importance of avoiding hate speech, and the adherence to legal regulations governing elections and other processes.
Ganduje emphasized that the institute would collaborate with the government to develop policies that support and enhance the democratic process in Nigeria.
“The establishment of the National Institute of Progressive Studies is to enlighten our members, even members of the public, on the doctrine of democracy, on the issues of internal democracy, issues of avoiding hate speeches, and also issues of abiding by the rules of the law pertaining to election and other processes,” Ganduje stated.
He further added, “So, you can see that this institution will work with the government in terms of coming up with appropriate policies that are conducive for democracy.”
The APC’s move to establish such an institute reflects its commitment to strengthening democratic values and promoting political education among its members and the Nigerian populace.
The announcement of the National Institute of Progressive Studies marks a significant step for the APC as it prepares for the upcoming political landscape in 2024.
