The South-East Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mrs Oby Ajih, has expressed confidence that the party will secure a resounding victory across the South-East region in the 2027 general elections.
Ajih stated this in Umuahia during a mid-year prayer and widows’ empowerment programme organised by the Abia State APC Woman Leader.
She said the electoral setbacks suffered by the APC in the South-East during the 2015, 2019 and 2023 presidential elections would not be repeated, attributing her optimism to what she described as the performance of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

According to her, the achievements of the current administration have improved the party’s acceptance in the region and would translate into increased support for the APC in future elections.
Ajih maintained that the party would garner more votes across polling units in the South-East during the 2027 polls.
She also dismissed concerns that the abducted Otu schoolchildren and their teachers had been abandoned, assuring parents and residents that efforts were ongoing to secure their release.
“The children are not dead. They will not die. They will come out and they will be rescued by the grace of God,” she said.
Speaking at the event, the APC Woman Leader in Abia State, Mrs Cecilia Erondu, said party members, particularly widows, gathered to pray for an end to insecurity in the country and for the wellbeing of President Tinubu and other APC candidates.
Erondu added that the empowerment materials distributed to widows were aimed at improving their welfare and supporting their livelihoods.
