President Bola Tinubu has been urged by the Progressive League of Young Voters for Tinubu and Shettima to do something about the rapidly rising cost of living in Nigeria.
During the investiture of its national patron, Engr. Ayoola Oyejide, its National Coordinator, Abdul Shuaibu, addressed the press and urged the President to take immediate action to reduce the country’s high unemployment rate and to fill key positions in his government with young Nigerians.
He pointed out that Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima are not round pegs in round holes, given the unprecedented policies and appointments they have made in their short time in government.

Most of Nigeria’s population is under the age of 30, and according to Shuaibu, it means that two-thirds of the country’s youth are either unemployed or underemployed. The president is responsible for solving this issue and keeping it to a minimal.
The expense of living has increased at a rate that is unprecedented and intolerable. The nation’s economy is in a dire state, and the president is tasked with fixing it.
The current status of national security in Nigeria is troubling, according to Shuaibu.
As the Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast wanes, the coordinator noted, it is being replaced by banditry and terrorism in the North-west.
He also mentioned the terrible farmer-herder conflict plaguing the North Central region and the separatist bloodshed and criminal opportunism plaguing the South East.
The president needs to get a handle on these significant security challenges, Shuaibu said, noting an increase in gang and ritual activities in the South-West and militancy, piracy, and oil theft in the South-South.
He claims that public officials in Nigeria are notoriously corrupt. Although the president is opposed to it, we anticipate that he will deal with the threat head-on, demonstrating honesty and intolerance for arrogance.
He claimed that many bright young people in Nigeria were being denied the opportunity to develop their talents.
We may thank God that President Tinubu has a proven track record of involving and training young people in government. We anticipate that he will continue in this vein in his upcoming appointments of ministers, heads of departments, agency directors, and board members of federal organizations,” he continued.
