Several chieftains of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The defectors announced their decision to join the ADC as part of ongoing political realignments ahead of the elections.

The development is expected to strengthen the ADC’s political structure in Oyo State as the party continues efforts to expand its membership and grassroots support.
The new members pledged their commitment to the ADC and expressed readiness to work with other party stakeholders to build a stronger political platform ahead of the 2027 polls.
ADC leaders in the state welcomed the defectors, describing their decision as a boost to the party’s growing strength and acceptance among residents.
The party urged its members to remain united and focused on its campaign for political change, while calling on more Nigerians to join its ranks.
The defection comes amid increasing movement of politicians across party lines as political parties intensify preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
