The Arewa Civil Rights and Professionals Network (ACRPN) has called on President Bola Tinubu to leverage the competence of women for national development by extending the tenure of Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).
In a statement signed by its President, Barrister Aminu Kabir, the group emphasized the importance of women’s contributions to Nigeria’s growth and urged the President to retain Madein, who is set to retire from the civil service in March 2025.
ACRPN highlighted Dr. Madein’s exemplary leadership and fiscal expertise, describing her as a key figure in ensuring transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s public financial administration.

“We appeal to President Tinubu to recognize the importance of women’s competence in national development.
Extending Dr. Madein’s tenure would ensure continuity, stability, and professionalism in the management of the nation’s finances,” the statement read.
The group noted that Madein’s retirement would create a significant vacuum, citing her strategic foresight, prudent fiscal management, and outstanding accomplishments in overseeing Nigeria’s treasury.
“Throughout her tenure, Dr. Madein has demonstrated exceptional leadership, establishing a solid basis for fiscal restraint that is unmatched.
Her continued service would allow for the completion of ongoing projects and initiatives with a positive impact on the nation’s economy,” ACRPN stated.
The group also underscored the need for stability within the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, given its critical role in managing the country’s finances.
ACRPN concluded by advocating for President Tinubu to harness the skills and expertise of Nigerian women, reiterating that retaining Dr. Madein would strengthen fiscal governance and inspire greater female participation in national leadership.
