Former Vice President and presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the killing of a mother and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi, Kano State, describing the incident as a senseless act of violence against innocent Nigerians.
InfoStride News reports that the tragic incident occurred on Saturday after the housewife’s nephew, Umar Auwalu, allegedly led a syndicate to the family’s residence.

In a statement released on Sunday, Atiku expressed deep sorrow over the killings and extended his condolences to the bereaved family and the affected community.
He questioned the effectiveness of recent directives issued to security agencies, asking whether they were being implemented or had remained mere political rhetoric.
“I am heartbroken by the gruesome killing of a mother and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi, Kano,” Atiku said.
“This senseless violence against innocent Nigerians is unacceptable. My thoughts and prayers are with the grieving family and community.”
He stressed that security agencies must act decisively to apprehend those responsible and prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
“It is either the so-called marching orders to the security agencies are not being actioned or it is merely political talk,” he stated.
“Security agencies are charged to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice and take decisive actions to protect every Nigerian from such brutality. We must end the culture of violence and ensure safety for all.”
The former vice president also recalled his earlier calls for improved security across the country, reiterating the need for urgent and effective measures to halt the growing trend of violence against civilians.
He emphasised that safeguarding lives and property must remain a top priority for the government.
