Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has rejected the Senate’s approval of a mixture of electronic and manual transmission of election results, warning that such a measure could create confusion.
Atiku stated his position on Tuesday after a closed-door meeting with former military Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, in Niger State.
Reacting to the recent amendment approved by the Senate, the former presidential candidate said he does not support combining electronic and manual methods in the transmission of election results.

“I don’t support the mixture of electronic and manual transmission of election results passed by the Senate,” Atiku said.
“It’s going to cause more confusion, and I think there’s a need for all the opposition parties to come together to pursue this issue,” he added.
Atiku also dismissed the argument for zoning in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary, although he did not elaborate on his position.
