Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano is getting closer to being re-elected having emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state’s November 18 gubernatorial election. Obiano recently won the party’s primary held on Tuesday, August 15, at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre, Awka. Chief Victor Umeh, expressed optimism that the Governor would be re-elected. He also warned APGA’s opponents in the poll not to attempt to rig the November election adding that the state would resist it.

One hundred and forty cases of measles have been reported across 10 local governments in Taraba State, according to its Commissioner of Health, Dr. Innocent Vakkai. Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo has sounded a note of warning corps members against undertaking unnecessary and unauthorised journeys because the roads are unsafe. The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, says the whistleblower policy of the Federal Government is one of the current administration’s successful initiatives.
