Lindelof finally arrived in a £31 million move from Benfica earlier this month after initial interest in January, but Mourinho still wants to keep Jones at the club. Jones, meanwhile, is hopeful of securing a place in the England squad for next summer’s World Cup in Russia. And despite being told by national team…
A new season requires a fresh look and Bayern Munich have certainly secured themselves just that by unveiling a slick new away kit for the 2017-18 campaign. The shirt is predominantly navy but features a striking red band across the midriff — a motif that is repeated on the shorts and socks. The football scholars among you may have noticed that the kit is actually a homage to a classic Bayern strip of yesteryear. Indeed, it’s a throwback to the kit worn by the Bavarian giants between 1997 and 1999, as modelled here by the effortlessly cool Hasan Salihamidzic. The…

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford started last campaign by surprising Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a preseason trip to Sweden. It was during a friendly in Gothenburg in July 2016 when the then-18-year-old Rashford raced through Galatasaray’s defence to win a penalty, prompting a round of applause and a look of astonishment from Ibrahimovic. Then, after almost a year had passed and with Ibrahimovic ruled out injured, it was Rashford who was chosen to lead the line for the Europa League final in Stockholm.…
