Laura Ikeji got married yesterday but that isn’t what everyone is talking about. The younger sister to Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji suffered an embarrassing photoshop fail that’s got everyone speculating about what she could possibly be hiding. In an attempt to make her belly look flatter in one of the photos from her court wedding, an over-zealous person (who we’re gonna assume is not her because she didn’t share the photo herself) ended up giving her a suspiciously thin hand. The picture which was shared by one of her sisters has been the trending topic on the Internet for a…

Let’s face it: songs leaks are nothing new. Since music could be recorded on portable devices (cassette tapes and compact discs); it has always happened that certain songs or albums find their way to the fans ahead of completion or release. It has been made easier these days that all you need is cloud storage to store a digital file. Typically record labels react badly to leaks and artistes do too. Expectedly they treat it as a case of theft. Who wouldn’t? After working hard on a project for months- pay songwriters, pay producers, invest a lot of time and…

Back in October, Tottenham Hotspur gave us an insight into what was to come for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side headed to White Hart Lane having won 10 of their previous 11 matches but Spurs deservedly inflicted a first loss on their opponents’ new manager. The team’s patchy form highlights a squad which should not be this flawed considering the towers of money at their disposal for recruitment. Guardiola has borne the brunt of the criticism, because…

People have forgotten about it now, but in November there was a bit of a controversy when La Gazzetta dello Sport ran a story about a speech Gigi Buffon allegedly gave his Juventus teammates after a 1-1 draw with Lyon that month. “In Serie A, they roll over. In Europe they don’t,” the pink claimed Buffon said. Understandably, Juventus swiftly issued a strongly worded denial and a couple of journalists sent to cover the champions’ next game at the J Stadium were turned away. The firmest rebuttal of all, however, has come on the pitch. Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina…

If a Pep Guardiola side sitting in fifth place with over half the season gone isn’t a strange enough sight, what’s just as curious is how oddly passive he has been. Guardiola apparently locks himself away in a room for hours before games trying to figure out how to beat his next opponents, which has led to some of his more inventive systems and formations, but there hasn’t been a great deal of that during his time at City. Perhaps that’s because he recognises that this squad is not quite good enough to cope with such dramatic shifts in approach,…

Well, so much for the much ballyhooed supremacy of Spanish and German football. No wonder the Barcas and Bayerns have had their way in La Liga and Bundesliga for all these years. They had virtually no competition. Oh, sure, their opponents may have possessed some smattering of skill, but there was obviously no intensity to their play, no bone-jarring physicality, no in-your-face pressing, none of the qualities that make the Premier League such a unique challenge to a ball-hogging purist like Pep Guardiola. I mean, if the most successful manager in history couldn’t cut it on a rainy night in…
