In fulfillment of Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s earlier promise, a new pedestrian bridge has been constructed on the Apete River and opened for public use. The Oyo State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Bimbo Kolade told newsmen shortly after inspecting the bridge that the newly-constructed bridge would be restricted to vehicular activities. The Oyo State Government has attributed the delay in the completion of Apete Bridge in Ibadan within the record time to the weather and climatic conditions of 2013, as well as other factors like design revisions and alterations of the project.
