The Oyo State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese firm, CCECC for the construction of a light rail transport system covering about 24 kilometres within Ibadan, the State capital. The Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has described ex-governor of the State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja’s denial of allegation of refund of N500million to the State by him as panicky and lamentable. The Oyo State Government, in conjunction with the Local Government Councils, is currently embarking on the rehabilitation/reconstruction of a total of 62 roads across all the 33 Local Government Areas of the State at the cost of N5.3 billion.
