The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Enugu on Friday upheld the election of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State. The tribunal Chairman, Justice Hildad Kwajafa, in his judgment, held that the petition filed by Mr Okey Ezea of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was incompetent and lacking in merit. Kwajafa held that Ugwuanyi was duly returned by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Ezea had challenged the declaration of Ugwuayi as the winner of the April 11 governorship election in the state.
