The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has apologised to workers in Cross Rivers State for deductions made from their salaries without prior information. The State Chairman of NLC, Comrade John Ushie, blamed leaders of affiliate unions in the state for not passing the information to their members as agreed during the exco meeting of the union last month. The Nigerian Army said Tuesday that it had liberated 30 hostages held by Boko Haram, including 21 children and seven women, amid ongoing offensives against the extremists in the country’s northeast.
