Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has formally directed that the titles ‘His Excellency’ and ‘Executive’ be dropped in all official and informal communication with him. A former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who turned himself in at the Abuja headquarters of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday, has been granted bail. Rivers State Government has banned the consumption of local gin (popularly called Ogogoro or kai-kai) which was said to be responsible for the death of about 32 persons in parts of the state.
