Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has faulted the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for declaring the governorship election in the state inconclusive and announcing supplementary elections in some wards across the state. Umama, has said that the victory of his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Mr. Udom Emmanuel in the April 11 poll was a coup against the people of the state. In the result declared Monday in Gusau, the Returning Officer, Abdullahi Zuru, declared Mr. Yari winner with a total vote of 716,964.
