The impeached Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Also declared wanted in a terse statement signed by the Head, Media and Publicity of EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, is Abdul Aziz Murtala Nyako, a retired officer of the Nigerian Navy and son of the former Adamawa State governor. “Both are wanted in a case of criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering”, the EFCC said.

Nigeria’s military on Tuesday said the country’s sovereignty was not compromised despite the presence of Chadian ground troops in the northeast to fight Boko Haram.
