The Nigerian Army has reviewed the curfew in Maiduguri, the capital of the Boko Haram troubled Borno State. In a press statement by the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, the curfew hours imposed on the town, which was 9pm to 6am, is now 7pm to 6am daily. The additional two hours was handed down due to the worsening security situation in the state, especially as a result of an increase in the number of attacks on some towns. 3866 undocumented migrants have been rescued by the Italian Navy in boats between Sicily and the North African coast over the past weekend, authorities say. According to a statement by the navy, the illegal immigrants rescued between Friday and Sunday were aboard boats that had set off from North Africa. Since the beginning of the year around 114,000 immigrants have arrived on Italian shores, according to Italy’s Interior Ministry.
