A 63-year-old man, Izora Michael, Tuesday slumped and died shortly before drinking a bottle of beer at a beer parlour in Odeogun Quarters, Idi Iroko, Ogun State. Michael had barely bought the unnamed beer when he suddenly slumped, according to reports. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident. He said that Police detectives had visited the scene of the incident. The PPRO said the police did not suspect any foul play and Michael’s corpse had been released to his family who also rejected any post mortem on their relation for burial.

A Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced a student, Mariam Nuhu, 26, to two months imprisonment for stealing iPad at a night club in Garki, Abuja. Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra has revoked the Certificates of Occupancy of four buildings, including a church in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area, due to their alleged links to kidnappers. The buildings have subsequently been demolished. The demolition followed the parade of 15 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad headquarters, Awkuzu on Tuesday. The Federal Ministry of Health has announced that a nurse, who treated Patrick Sawyer, the late Liberian infected with Ebola, has also died of the virus. It was also disclosed that six more people have tested positive to Ebola infection. All six, who tested positive, were confirmed to have been in primary contact with the late Sawyer who died in a Lagos hospital late July and has since been cremated.
