sultan-of-sokoto.jpgThe Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, yesterday met with district heads from the 23 local government areas of Sokoto State, to review the security situation and discuss other pressing matters.

The Sultan said the meeting was convened to discuss how to tackle the security challenges.

“The meeting is to ensure that what is happening in other places does not occur in this state”, he said.

He urged district heads not to rest on their oars in ensuring lasting peace in their domains. The Sultan added that as Muslims, they should show concern for one another within and outside the country.

Abubakar III also called for constructive advice, adding: “We want to carry everybody along, so we are open to suggestions from anyone of you”.

The Sultan also urged the district heads to intensify efforts at assisting the less privileged persons in the society.
