The acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Suleiman Abba on Tuesday visited the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in the fight against terrorism,
A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Frank Mba, said the Abba visited the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh as well as the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah at their offices in Abuja.
Mba said the IGP held crucial discussions with the Service Chiefs, promising to strengthen the age-long cooperation between the military and the Police and enjoined the military authorities to continue to extend their support to the Police in providing adequate safety and security for the country.
According to the statement, both the CDS and the CAS congratulated the new IGP on his appointment and promised to team up with him as they redouble their efforts in all areas essential to the war against terror, including training and joint Military-Police operations.
In a related development, the IGP equally paid a courtesy call on the FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed, who expressed optimism that Mr. Abba will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the current effort to ensure lasting safety and security in our country.
