Ex-militants in the Niger-Delta have threatened to cut off the supply of petroleum products to Northern Nigeria if the North oppose the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015. Abandoned buildings along Lagos‑Ilorin expressway near the Ilorin International Airport, suspected to be hideout for criminals dealing in human parts and other nefarious criminal activities have been discovered by men of the Kwara State command. President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday said Boko Haram’s attacks on churches in villages near Chibok, Borno, on Sunday were attempts to instigate religious violence in the country. Shani Local Government Area of Borno State was Monday invaded by suspected Boko Haram terrorists, who bombed the Divisional Police Headquarters at about 2:45pm, according to a report by Vanguard. Shani is about 245 kilometres from Maiduguri and is a border town between Borno and Adamawa States. The forthcoming 2015 general elections might be jeopardized if no urgent steps are taken to address the problem of funding besetting the Independent National Electoral Commission, the House of Representatives has said.
