The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has said it would not accept the proposed increase in electricity tariff. The union said Friday that the planned tariff increase would only compound the hardship Nigerians were going through in the midst of erratic power supply. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) command in Sokoto has deployed security men in plain-clothes to the border between the state and Niger Republic to prevent arms importation into the country. The corps Commandant in Sokoto, Alhaji Aliyu Yemal, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto on Saturday that the command was working with other security agencies to check arms importation and ensure those engaged in such acts were arrested.
