Security has been stepped up in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State following threats of attack by Boko Haram on major institutions, including the University of Uyo, in Akwa-Ibom State. Three Indians have been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by a Federal High Court sitting in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State over their involvement in illegal oil theft on the waterways of Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. A woman, Hajiya Maimuna Danja, died on Wednesday on her way to Katsina to pray for the release of the abducted Chibok girls. The woman, who hailed from Danja in Danja Local Government Area of Katsina State, died in a car crash on Danja-Katsina road.
