A lone suicide bomber was on Sunday arrested in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital while on a mission to blow off a police station. According to witnesses, the bomber, who drove into the town in a pickup van from its southern border, rammed the vehicle into the protective sand bags at the Police A Division, located in the busy area of the town. Nine persons have lost their lives on Saturday night when a petroleum tanker and a Peugeot 406 car collided at Hausari village, on Sokoto-Tambuwal road in Sokoto State. The Federal government has deployed troops to Nigeria’s main airports in a security clampdown ahead of a major international economic conference next week in Abuja after two bomb blasts left scores dead in the capital.
