Lagos State governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hailed the people of Lagos State for selecting him to rule them for the next 4 years.
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revealed that Sanwo-Olu cliched 739,445 votes while Agbaje was a distant second with 206,141 votes.
In his acceptance speech, he appreciated the people of Lagos State, revealing that he has accepted that mandate and will ensure work is done to move the state forward.
He also hailed Bola Tinubu, national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, and President Muhammadu Buhari for being so supportive throughout the process of his victory.
Sanwo-Olu emerged victorious in all of the state’s 20 local government areas in Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Epe, Ikeja, Ikorodu, Amuwo-Odofin, Ibeju-Lekki, Agege, Apapa, Somolu, Eti-Osa, Oshodi-Isolo, Mushin, Kosofe, Surulere, Badagry, Ojo, Alimosho, Ifako-Ijaye and Ajeromi-Ifelodun.
He is now set to take over from Akinwunmi Ambode, when he’s sworn in on May 29.
