Bandits have reportedly abducted four farmers in the Libere community, located in the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Aminu Khalid, the youth leader of Dokan Karji, confirmed the abductions in a telephone interview with Newsmen on Thursday. He stated that the farmers were kidnapped around 12:00 PM while harvesting their crops.
Khalid expressed concern over the growing insecurity in the area, noting that the incident has caused widespread panic, with many residents fleeing their homes.
“These bandits have continued to occupy more villages in our local government area unchallenged, causing a lot of havoc to the various communities,” he said.
The youth leader had previously reported that Libere was one of 14 villages overrun by bandits during a recent attack.
He has also called for military intervention to restore order in the region.
The victims of the abduction have been identified as Phoebe Adauji, Cecilia Moses, Tambaya, and his wife.
