The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed an attack on a Police Mobile Force (PMF) camp at Nuku Village via Kaiama in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ilorin on Friday.
According to her, the attack occurred in the early hours of April 10, 2026, at about 03:45hrs, when armed bandits launched a coordinated assault on the facility.

She said five members of the National Forest Guards were killed during the нападение, while a patrol vehicle belonging to the police was extensively damaged.
“At about 03:45hrs, bandits launched a coordinated attack on the PMF Camp at Nuku village where five members of the National Forest Guards were fatally shot, and a patrol vehicle was damaged before PMF personnel repelled the attackers,” the statement read.
The Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, condemned the attack and expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased.
He assured residents that tactical and intelligence-driven operations have been launched to track down the perpetrators, adding that security agencies are closely monitoring the situation to prevent further breaches.
The police also urged members of the public to cooperate by providing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations.
The incident comes weeks after a similar attack on March 22, 2026, when bandits invaded Woro and Nuku communities, killing several residents and abducting over 170 others who are reportedly still in captivity.
