At least four people were killed and three others injured when armed bandits attacked Baidi village, a remote settlement in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
A security expert, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this in a report posted on his official X handle.

According to Makama, the attack occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday when a large number of Lakurwa bandits, reportedly armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the village, which is located along the border with the Niger Republic.
He explained that a communication blackout in the area delayed the immediate reporting of the incident.
Following the attack, troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, and personnel of the Sokoto State Community Guard Corps were mobilised to the area.
Makama said the bodies of those killed, as well as the injured victims, were evacuated to a hospital for autopsy and medical treatment.
Security forces have since launched a manhunt for the attackers and are currently combing the surrounding areas to track and apprehend them, while confidence-building patrols continue to reassure residents and prevent further attacks.
