Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has assured the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its statutory obligations to the scheme.
The governor gave the assurance during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members deployed to the state for the mandatory one-year national service.
Mohammed said Bauchi State remains supportive of the objectives of the NYSC, adding that his administration would continue to collaborate with the scheme to ensure its smooth operation.

He described the programme as a vital platform for national development and urged corps members to take their service year seriously.
The governor encouraged them to contribute meaningfully to the growth of their host communities and the country at large, while also making good use of the orientation exercise.
Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Umoren Kufre, commended the governor for his support, particularly in the renovation of corps members’ hostels and the construction of a multipurpose hall at the orientation camp.
Kufre also appreciated the state government for repairing damaged sections of the camp’s perimeter fence, noting that the intervention had improved security and demonstrated commitment to corps members’ welfare.
He disclosed that about 1,700 corps members were deployed to Bauchi State for the service year, expressing confidence that they would execute impactful community development projects.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Aliyu Idris, who represented the Chief Judge of the state, Rabi Talatu.
