The Bauchi State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has officially distanced itself from the Forum of the Nineteen States, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chairmen and Secretaries, declaring the forum as non-existent.
In a joint statement issued on Friday by the acting Chairman, Mohammed Sabitu Aliyu, and acting Secretary, Danlami Idi Danladi, they refuted claims made by certain individuals who purported to represent the executives of the Northern States.
According to the statement, these individuals are not recognized as leaders and were actually removed from their positions due to actions against the party’s interests.

Mohammed Sabitu Aliyu stated, “The attention of Bauchi State Labour Party Executives has been drawn to the news broadcast by AIT and some online and social media in which a few individuals claimed to be the Northern States’ Chairmen and Secretaries made some statements which are hereby refuted.”
He continued, “We categorically say that they are not the Executives of the 19 Northern States, and especially their spokeswoman was deposed from her position due to her antiparty activities when the party was battling to reclaim her stolen mandate.”
Describing the individuals as “disgruntled, frustrated, and treacherous people,” Aliyu emphasized that they had worked against the party’s efforts in times of need and are now
seeking attention through baseless claims in the name of the northern region.
Furthermore, the statement affirmed the Bauchi State Labour Party’s support for the National Working Committee’s decision to zone the presidential flag bearer position to the southern region in 2027.
