Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson on Thursday, emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the December 5 election in the state.
Dickson, who was the sole candidate after the other aspirants were disqualified by the PDP screening committee, was ratified as the party’s flag bearer at the primaries, which held at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
Declaring the result of the primaries, Chairman of the PDP Electoral Panel and Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose said the incumbent polled 447 votes.
A total of 476 delegates led by former President Goodluck Jonathan were listed for the exercise.
According to Fayose, 452 delegates were accredited and five votes were voided while 24 delegates were absent.
