The Bayelsa State Government has entered into an agreement with Proton Energy for the construction of a 500megawatts power plant in the state.
The government has also committed N25 billion to the Small And Medium Enterprises (SMEs) development fund with the Bank of Industry, Mainstreet Bank and the Bank of Agriculture in Yenagoa.
Further in its development strides, the government has gone into agreement with Ostertrade for the establishment of ceramic tiles, glass and tomato paste and beans canning industries. It also signed pacts with the Federal Ministry of Communication Technology and four media organisations comprising Channels Television, Africa Independent Television (AIT), Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and Silverbird.
The Minister of Communication Technology, Dr. Omobolaji Johnson, signed on behalf of the Federal Government, while Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Edmund Alison Oguru and Information Commissioner, Deacon Markson Fefegha signed on behalf of the state government. [Thisday]
