Two new judges have been appointed into the Ogun State judiciary. They are Justices Durojaiye Naheem Omolaja and Babatunde Ademola Bakre.
The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, while performing the swearing-in ceremony today at his Oke Mosan office charged the two new Judges to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
Amosun said the Judiciary in the State has a rich pedigree, submitting that “when you take Ogun State out of the legal system in Nigeria, a large chunk of it must have been taken away from the law of the land”.
He urged the new Judges to justify the confidence reposed in them on their new assignment by being firm and fearless in their judgments, reminding that they would be made accountable for their deeds.
“I want you to justify the confidence reposed in you on your new assignment which is a call to service, and I’m sure you will not let us down” the Governor said.
Governor Amosun commended judges in the State Judiciary, pointing out that regardless of the challenges they face in the course of discharging their duties, they still work hard to meet the “Ogun Standard” level.
In separate interviews after the ceremony, the new judges, Justices Durojaye Omolaja and Ademola Bakre promised to contribute their quota to the effective dispensation of justice in the State.
Justice Durojaye Omolaja, a product of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife was into private legal practice before his appointment as a judge, while his counterpart, Justice Ademola Bakre, a graduate of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye was until his appointment, an Abuja based legal practitioner.
